Full time VB .NET Consulting in NYC

I am an Executive Recruiter in Chicago and I just started on a new search for several full time employees for a small consulting firm based in Chicago.  The initial assignment would be based in New York City and would likely last up to 2 years.  If you know of anyone that might have an interest in pursuing a position like this please let me
know or have them contact me directly.  Thanks in advance for taking a look
at the description and reviewing your network to see if there may be people
who would want to pursue this opportunity.  The initial client is an
international financial institution located in.  This is a very large
project and could last for a few years.

Ideally, they would love local candidates from NY, but will consider
individuals from the East coast, Illinois, and Texas.  If they are willing
to relocate to Chicago or New York, they may currently reside anywhere in
the US.  The candidate should have 2 – 7 years of experience with a strong
understanding of Visual Basic and .NET or Java.  Consulting experience is a
major plus but not required.

The client currently has a vast technical environment which varies based on
their locations in the U.S and internationally. The strategy is to remediate
all their financial systems and move them to a better, more state-of
–the-art architecture.  At the NY location, there are 1000’s of VB
applications that this candidate will be analyzing and moving into a more
contemporary architecture, (most likely .NET).  Therefore, this individual
will need to know VB and .NET (or Java) well enough to look at the existing
code, do the analysis and convert it.  This position will quickly move into
a more analytical role.  Experience in financials is a plus. (securities,
trading, bonds, etc.)
