Sharepoint Developer in Downtown, New York, NYC

Position Summary
The Developer will primarily focus on the Research instance of Microsoft Office SharePoint. SharePoint is tied to the core Research Authoring platform for workflow management. In addition, there is a standalone SharePoint instance used by both the Research business and technology team for collaboration, workflow, and document management. The Developer will report into the SharePoint Tech Lead, and will be responsible for:

§ Work in a globally (USA and India) dispersed team to deliver application functionality. As a developer you will be expected to take on an active role in delivering against application requirements.

§ Ensuring application performance, scalability and resiliency via deep technical expertise and ongoing interaction with architecture, infrastructure and performance-tuning authorities.

§ Communicating frequently with key stakeholders within the Research business and Research Technology.

Key Selection Criteria
The Developer must:

§ Possess 5-7 years of professional experience within the financial services industry, with most of this time focused on the analysis, design, development, testing and production support of Microsoft SharePoint, finance-oriented applications. A bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or related field is highly desirable.

§ Possess 5-7 years of strong “Hands-On” development skills using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), Workflow tools (e.g SharePoint Designer or K2 or Nintex), NAJAX, Jquery, Silver Light, Flex, ASP.Net, C#, MS SQL Server 2005, XML, Web Services technologies.

§ Possess strong working knowledge of Visual studio 2008 and TFS source code repository.

§ Possess strong server administration skills with Windows Server 2003 and IIS6.0

§ Be conversant with Unit testing and Continuous integration

§ Possess strong Application and Design experience using UML. In-depth experience and expertise in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Design Patterns, Application Frameworks (AJAX, MVC, Silver light, Flex etc.).

§ Be conversant with enterprise search technologies such as those offered by FAST.

§ Able to independently to architect solutions, lead code reviews and ensure quality throughout the life of each project.

§ Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, analytical and organizational skills.

§ Aptly manage day-to-day interactions and relationships with a diverse group of colleagues.

§ Put people at ease when necessary and instill a high degree of trust quickly and genuinely.
