The SharePoint Operational Administrator needs to acquire knowledge of the SharePoint farm architecture and installation process and be capable of rebuilding the farm quickly. They need to become familiar with all the functionality of the “Central Administration” web application and the STSADM.EXE commands (some functionality is only available in STSADM) as well as the Search service (managed properties, content sources, crawling, etc.) and how it interfaces with the imported Profiles.
Should also have a broad knowledge of Windows networking and authentication, particularly Kerberos
· Should monitor the Event Viewer and SharePoint logs for errors and be prepared to troubleshoot any problems.
· Check search crawl logs.
· Understand SharePoint security and web application/site collection/subsite structure well and understand the problematic issues related to these features.
· Experience with MOSS 2007 sites
· Provide strategic guidance on best practices for utilizing its functionality.
· Understand using InfoPath and SharePoint Designer
· Experience SQL Server and Oracle connectivity
· Must have the ability to work independently within a small team and follow through on tasks
· Independently troubleshoot and research challenging problems
· Work with end users and manage requirements.
Skill Requirements
3-5+ years technical SharePoint experience.
1-2+ year’s technical live link experience.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities and follow through on tasks
Proficient with Windows Server 2003\2008
